2020

Travis and Grant couldn't go to the Retreat for Rural Leaders at Valley Falls this year, so I took flat Travis and Grant with me.

We went to Alana's for a late new years celebration.

Birthday skating trip.

For her birthday, Amelia wanted everything bacon. We had bacon "sushi"
(bacon wrapped meatloaf), even candied bacon cake.

Surprise 40th birthday party for Travis.

For Presidents Day, The Kansas Explorers Club had a trip to the Eisenhower Museum and Brookville restaurant. Pat, the kids and I went and had a great day.

Alana, Ashley and I played volleyball in a benefit for a local kid with cancer.

Amelia made and sold bracelets for him too.

Boys birthday trip for Truman's birthday.

We got a drum set secondhand over spring break. The kids went on spring break and didn't go back to school for the rest of the school year. Schools were closed due to the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though school was closed, Travis and I were still able to go to work. City Hall was closed to the public but we still went to work. And Travis could still work at Morningstar farms.

We found ways to entertain ourselves while staying at home.

Now.

And back then.

Trying out zoom for the first time with the cousins.

At the arts center, we made take home art kits for all the K-5th kids at the school.

A new pandemic tradition was drive by birthday parades.

Travis and Matt's pandemic project was to build the disc golf course at Davis Park.

The school did daily lunches for pickup while doing school at home.

Another Covid stay at home project was to redo the pond.

At the end of the school year, Mrs. Hoffman visited each student at home.

Sophie came to visit.

M.T. Liggett visitor center construction coming along.

Pandemic multi-tasking at it's finest.

Amelia made this car for Eisley.

For vacation this year, we kept it simple because of the pandemic. We went to Lake Isabel near Rye, CO.

Bishop's Castle

Floating in the Ark River at Canon City.

Royal Gorge Bridge.

Back to school. With masks. Truman with Mrs. Ballard.

Amelia with Mrs. Cota.

Then and now.

Dea Corns brought us dinner!

Dad showing off his sweet potatoes to Luke and Shawn.

Because of the pandemic, this year we did a family sleepover party at mom and dads. Complete with matching pajamas.
