Ryan

Last Friday Chad and Ryan were in a car accident. Ryan died from his injuries on Saturday. He was 7, but if you talked to him, you would have thought he was 15. Their family moved here from Oregon about a year ago and we have gotten to know them through church and other get togethers. They helped last fall with grape harvest. The boys were such good helpers and Ryan was especially interested in the whole process. He said he wanted to plant grapes in the spring. Friday was his memorial service at the church. Considering, it was really nice with potluck dinner afterwards. Ryan loved potluck at church and his mom wanted to do that to remember him. The Sunday before he died we had a dinner at church. Kate, Luke and Ryan sat with Travis, Amelia, Truman and I and we got to hear all about the goings on at the ranch. Coyotes, guineas, snakes, cats, dogs, shooting, hunting, fishing, etc. They are such good kids and so grown up for their ages.

We have been so heartbroken over the loss of Ryan and heartbroken for their family. Growing up, we used to wonder why mom cried so easily it seemed, but Ashley and I were talking and now we get it. Being a mother is joy filled, wonderful, and heartbreaking. Thanks mom.
