The Long Road Home

Yesterday, as I was writing about our trip and waiting for the flight home, I had no idea the ordeal I was going to be to get home. Our original itinerary was to leave Seattle at 6am, fly to San Francisco, reboard the same plane, fly to Denver, switch planes, fly to Wichita, arrive at 4:20 and be home with some time to spend with the kids before bed. WRONG!

As we went to board the plane in San Fran, we and 30 some other people didn't have seats. They had overbooked the flight. So we waited in line for a couple hours to make alternate arrangments. Finally we decided to take a flight to OKC and have Marie come pick us up and take us to Wichita. We waited at the SF airport from 9am to after 7pm and arrived in OKC around 130 and wichita at 4am. We slepta few hours then went to the Wichita airport for our luggage. Luckily it was there waiting for us. It made the flight even though we didnt .

After a very long day of traveling and waiting, we are home and glad to be. I think the best way to judge a vacation is how glad you are to be home. I was so ready to see the kids. Pat had Amelia at our house when we got home around noon. It was great to see her reaction when she saw us. I went to work for a few hours in the afternoon then got Tru. He didn't want me to put him down. Love my babies.

The good part of missing the flight is we now have $800 credit towards another trip. Taking suggesions...where should we go?
