What a week...

It has been a busy and somewhat productive week. I had another session of art classes at the school. The K-5 kiddos painted and glazed their ceramic pieces from the previous class and the 6-8th graders did a drawing project. Teaching them is fun and rewarding, but can try my patience when they don't listen. I know they really are enjoying the classes and getting alot out of them, so it's all worth it.

At monday's city council meeting they approved a letter of intent with HIB Building Systems to build a facility in Greensburg. This was exciting news and a great opportunity for the burg.

I went to the Wild West Country meeting tuesday in Garden City. WWC is a group of 22 SW KS counties to promote tourism in the region. I was elected secretary for the next 2 years. I had to hurry back and had a tourism committee meeting here. I have been trying to work hard and get things rolling promoting Gbg.

The construction of the Big Well Museum is really coming along. The building is starting to take shape. They have started putting up the forms for the cast in place wall and assembling the steel framing for the stairs. It will be lowered into the well next week. So exciting!

Both of the kids have been getting sick this week, Amelia went home from daycare on wednesday and spent the rest of the day with Gpa Bob. He was home sick too and they spent the afternoon being sickies together. Tru and Amelia both have developed coughs and I hope it doesn't get any worse. I guess if they aren't better by monday, we'll probably make a trip to the doctor. Amelia's vocabulary is growing everyday and Truman is really starting to pull up on things.
